What Size You Need for A4 Printing
Standard A4 sheet — 210×297 mm. Quality photo printing needs 300 DPI:
| Format | Size (mm) | Pixels (300 DPI) |
|---|---|---|
| A4 | 210×297 | 2480×3508 |
| A5 | 148×210 | 1748×2480 |
| A3 | 297×420 | 3508×4960 |
The editor exports collages at high resolution — suitable for photo printing. Choose PNG for max quality or PDF for a print shop.
How to Create an A4 Collage Online
Step 1 — Choose A4 in the Editor
Open the editor and go to "Canvas". Pick orientation:
- A4 Portrait — 210×297 mm, taller than wide. For portraits and family collages.
- A4 Landscape — 297×210 mm, wider than tall. For landscapes and wide shots.
The canvas adjusts automatically — cells fill the sheet.
Step 2 — Upload Photos and Choose a Grid
For standard A4, pick a grid by photo count:
- 2×2 — 4 photos, classic square grid
- 2×3 — 6 photos, two rows of three
- 3×2 — 6 photos, three rows of two
- 3×3 — 9 photos, dense grid

Tap each cell and upload a shot. Move and scale inside the cell — double-click to edit.
Step 3 — Add a Frame (Optional)
For print, neutral frames work well:
- White Classic — thin white gap between photos
- Black Modern — bold contrast
- No Frame — photos edge to edge
For formal documents and presentations — White Classic or no frame.
Step 4 — Download PNG or PDF
Click Export and pick format and quality:
- PNG / Print — max resolution (~4800 px on the long side). Home or print shop.
- PDF — professional printing. A4 page with correct proportions.
- PNG / Web — smaller file for preview or sharing.
The export dialog shows final pixels and approximate file size before download.

How to Print a Collage at Home
After download:
PNG: open in your photo viewer (Photos on Windows, Preview on Mac). Print → A4 → "Fit to page."
PDF: open in Adobe Reader or a browser. Print → "Fit to page" → A4. PDF scales content to the sheet.
Use matte or glossy photo paper 200–300 g/m² for much better results than office paper.
Collage for Photo Lab Printing
If you order prints at a lab — confirm required resolution (usually 300 DPI) and pixel size. Download PNG — lossless, labs accept it easily.
For standard A4 at 300 DPI you need 2480×3508 pixels. Export with Print quality — the editor provides enough resolution.
A3 Collage for Printing
A3 (297×420 mm) is twice A4. Used for:
- Posters
- Large family collages
- Wall displays
Same workflow — pick a grid, download PNG or PDF. Tell the print shop 297×420 mm for A3.
